My stay at the Thistle Hotel had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from key spots in Edinburgh. However, the condition of the room left much to be desired, as it seemed quite dated and cleanliness was an issue. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I faced several inconveniences during my visit.

The room was spacious, but definitely in need of some TLC. I noticed it was a bit dated, with dust on the light shades and a few maintenance issues, like the toilet not being secured and dirty shower door rails. Overall, it felt more like a budget accommodation than a boutique hotel.

The staff, especially Ryan, were very friendly and willing to help. Although Ryan rectified some issues when I raised them, I would’ve liked to see more proactive management during my stay.

My stay at the Thistle Hotel was nice for many reasons. the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home. The location is perfect, a quiet spot that’s still within walking distance of all the major attractions. However, the stairs to my room were quite steep, which might be an issue for some. Overall, it was a cozy spot that exuded charm, especially during the Christmas season.
